The UXB Creates José Eber’s New Brand Identity

With the help of his best friend, legendary screen and stage actress Elizabeth Taylor, famed hairstylist José Eber embarked on a search for a new Beverly Hills location for a re-imaged flagship salon. Together, the pair secured the historic Sotheby’s building at 360 North Camden Drive just before her untimely passing.

As the project got underway, José Eber reached out to The UXB, to develop a stronger, more balanced wordmark that addressed the unique challenges of a brand name that embodied his sense of style and an innate elegance. The design solution incorporated a custom font, a stylized “o” that is a clever play on the address, and 360 degree beauty perspective. A system was also developed that allowed the identity to stand alone or be stacked for unique “word puzzles.” The color palette was selected as a subtle nod to Miss Taylor, her favorite color, and enduring friendship with José.

It was a resounding success subsequently rolling out to new salon locations and the recently launched José Eber product line on QVC.
